ABSTRACT :
This research aimed to study grade 12 students’ decision – making process in learning nuclear power plants in Thailand through Yuenyong (2006) Science Technology and Society Approach. The participants were 40, Grade 12 students in Naraikhampongwitthaya School in Surin, Thailand, 1st semester of 2010 academic year. The subjects were derived from two student groups: excellent and poor ability. Research instruments are included (1) intervention instrument with the lesson plan of unit Atomic for Peace and a behavioral code recording for ISPED (1) decision – making process (2) data collecting instrument (3) participant observation (4) informal interview (5) journal (6) tasks. The findings revealed that students applied knowledge of science, technology and society for decisions. The excellent and poor ability students are different decision – making process.
